So I think everybody had a good time.
I, of course, am my worst critic and felt like nothing looked pretty enough. The beef didn't slice well; the potatoes kind of "melted;" and the asparagus was undercooked.
C'est la vie.
The cheesecake is probably the BEST dessert I've ever made. Or eaten for that matter.
I guess I'm not all self deprecating.
Next weekend is the Derby.
I think I'll be sick tomorrow.

The only thing about the dinner that I could criticize was the asparagus and that's only because I don't like it. EVERYTHING was magnificent and having the dinner at home was so much more fun than being in a restaurant. Thank you so much for doing all the work.
I like my asparagus undercooked. I will have to look at that cheesecake recipe again seeing as how I have all these limes sitting here!
The cheesecake recipe is good as written. To make it great you should use all the zest your limes will give up...just a little in the crust; a lot in the curd; and a good amount in the cheesecake part. What put this cake over the top was the addition of lime extract. A little in every portion except the crust.
